![]() Some 3rd party printer driver vendors supply ICC profiles and again, some are better than others. Why there are differences in profile quality and color renderingĮxamples of good and not so good canned profiles and custom profiles on actual printed output. I can’t see how it has better ICC profiles/colour management but perhaps ‘better profiles’ and not all ICC Profiles are created equally (which is why you may wish to build your own): Thanks - I sharpen in PS before sending to print - It is my understanding that QI has better ICC profiles/colour management and a far more robust interface than printing from LR/PS - so ultimately is easier and better to use if you are printing on a range of papers. Don't put much faith in the sharpening image comparisons on the Q-Image website which I believe are misleading at best. Since you are on a Mac, you can use Iridient Developer for file prep which IMO has superior sharpening options-particularly Iridient Reveal (hybrid method) and R-L deconvolution for halo-free presharpening. Stick with LR or Photoshop, final quality is superb. Second, if it’s flame bait, you took it hook, line and sinker! After reading the article above, maybe you will too. You might want to read the OP’s first post and his question again:Įven he knows what not to ask for (a RIP). When you actually understand what a RIP is, and what the OP asked for and needs, your text may have some value. Still, Monday morning shows that you are an eternal fountain of flame bait.įirst you need to learn what to even search for (assuming you really believe you’re helping the OP by suggesting all he do is search instead of answering his question about specific advise from users): You did, where would the OP find that data you didn’t provide? ![]() Try this in a search engine: photo print * rip software mac osĪctually, I did - and saw that there might be leads of interest to the OP. Is there a mac equivalent to Qimage that folk have used and how well did it work? I tried it, didn’t see anything it did I couldn’t do in Lightroom and saw NO difference in print quality. Does anyone use Printao 8 and have any "helpful" recommendations? I have heard about Printao 8, but note a detailed thread on this forum back in 2015 raising concerns. Well I am a Mac user, Qimage is not available for Mac OSX and I am seeking to understand what software I might try to better manage the quality and colour of my prints on my own printer. I use Adobe PS and LR CC and would print from them - but this is not what Martin does. I am obviously exploring a range of printers and calibration options. I love using my printer, but am now seeking to explore how I could also produce some prints in my office at a similar standard. Martin has built 100% accurate profiles for each paper and so prints with confidence for a range of Artists, Museum and Gallery clients) (He uses a Canon Canon ipf8400, the Lucia EX inks and a wide range of papers. Hi - I was working with my printer who uses Qimage to manage his printing on his Windows Machine.
